RallyCrew is the online eddy where whitewater paddlers connect, plan trips, build skills, and find events. This all-in-one app is free to use and designed for every kind of boater—whether you paddle a kayak, raft, canoe, IK, SUP, or packraft. With RallyCrew, you can browse paddler profiles, create or join affinity groups, discover events around the world, and chat directly with other boaters and paddlesport providers. It is a modern, inclusive space that brings the whitewater community together in one place—finally making it easy to stay informed, make new connections, and get more time on the water.

RallyCrew is free to join. Our goal is not to charge users to connect with each other, but to ensure the platform remains strong and sustainable—so it can serve the paddling community for years to come. That is where this role comes in.

The Role

As Chief Development Officer, you will serve as the strategic partner to RallyCrew’s Founder, helping to grow the platform without compromising what makes it special. You will lead partnerships, sponsorships, advertising, and other business relationships that support RallyCrew’s long-term sustainability—while keeping the experience clean, useful, and community-driven. You will also serve as RallyCrew’s #2, ensuring that operations move forward when the Founder is offline (say, for a Grand Canyon trip).

Partnerships and Industry Relationships

  • Develop meaningful partnerships with paddlesport brands, advocacy groups, and industry leaders

  • Create win-win collaborations with instructors, gear manufacturers, and event organizers that bring value to RallyCrew members

  • Support paddlesport service providers on RallyCrew, helping them connect with paddlers in ways that feel natural and useful

Sponsorships and Advertising (Done Right)

  • Build an advertising and sponsorship model that feels relevant, respectful, and additive to the paddling experience

  • Work only with brands paddlers are excited to see on RallyCrew

  • Ensure partner content enhances the community rather than disrupting it

Business Growth and Sustainability

  • Lead thoughtful revenue strategies that support RallyCrew operations while keeping the platform free for members

  • Develop premium offerings, event sponsorships, and partner activations that align with RallyCrew’s mission

  • Explore new revenue opportunities—such as event insurance, business memberships, or VIP experiences—always asking whether they benefit the paddling community

  • Keep the focus on smart, long-term sustainability—not aggressive monetization

Leadership and Operational Support

  • Act as the Founder’s right-hand, ensuring strategic and operational continuity

  • Represent RallyCrew at industry events, trade shows, and paddling gatherings

What Success Looks Like

  • Revenue strategies support RallyCrew’s sustainability without compromising the paddler experience

  • Meaningful partnerships with paddlesport brands, instructors, and event organizers are active and thriving

  • Sponsorships and advertising feel aligned, respectful, and relevant—not disruptive

  • Paddlesport service providers feel supported and are using RallyCrew to reach their communities

  • Early revenue experiments (VIP memberships, event insurance, featured placements) are tested, refined, and community-informed

  • RallyCrew is free for members and remains focused on long-term community trust

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $110,000 to $130,000 per year, depending on experience, location, and time commitment.

Time commitment: This role is designed as a full-time position, but we are open to candidates who prefer a reduced schedule (e.g., 50 to 75 percent time). Let us know what works for you.
