I’m Deborah Kane. I started boating in my 40’s and now, more than a decade later, whitewater kayaking is my go-to #1 favorite thing to do.

Because I love it so much, I recently spent three years as the president of my local paddling club. The experience with the club, plus my own adventures honing my roll, finding clinics, evaluating various tour operators, searching for information about races, and building a trusted crew got me thinking.

What if there was a way to aggregate information about whitewater boating so that you could browse instructor profiles, leave reviews for outstanding paddlesport businesses, book a class, join a club, sign up for a guided trip, discover paddling events, or find people to go boating with all in one place? One that wasn’t called Facebook. And one with intuitive search features. Plus a comprehensive calendar of events so you never miss another cool boating event because you didn’t know it existed.

My personal boating ambitions are relatively tame. I just love being on the water with friends. But I’m charging super hard right now toward creating that one-stop shop described above. Called RallyCrew, it’ll be both a website and an app. Picture a giant online eddy big enough to fit the entire boating community.

This is a passion project. Whatever I build will be free.
