About RallyCrew

RallyCrew is the online eddy where whitewater paddlers connect, plan trips, build skills, and find events. This all-in-one app is free to use and designed for every kind of boater—whether you paddle a kayak, raft, canoe, IK, SUP, or packraft. With RallyCrew, you can browse paddler profiles, create or join affinity groups, discover events around the world, and chat directly with other boaters and paddlesport providers. It is a modern, inclusive space that brings the whitewater community together in one place—finally making it easy to stay informed, make new connections, and get more time on the water.

We are looking for a Community Engagement Coordinator to help build conversations inside and outside RallyCrew. This person will actively engage with the paddling community, bring user-generated content to life, develop light editorial content, and foster meaningful interactions—both on social media and within the RallyCrew app itself. They will also support RallyCrew’s live virtual discussions, help shape ongoing email and SMS campaigns, and monitor community tone and behavior to ensure RallyCrew remains a friendly, inclusive space.

The Role

You will be RallyCrew’s community connector and content curator. From sparking conversations in group threads to writing blog posts and member spotlights, your goal is to help paddlers feel welcomed, inspired, and excited to participate. You will also play a key role in building RallyCrew’s voice through social channels, in-app messaging, email digests, and light content moderation.

Community Engagement (In-App and External)

  • Foster conversations within RallyCrew’s app, keeping groups and discussions active and welcoming

  • Respond to comments and messages, keeping RallyCrew approachable and responsive

  • Engage proactively with RallyCrew members to deepen relationships and drive return visits

  • Build and maintain relationships with paddlers, brands, schools, and event organizers

  • Identify opportunities for collaborations, content features, and spotlight stories

Content Curation and Light Creation

  • Turn user-submitted photos, videos, and stories into engaging posts

  • Highlight paddlers, paddlesport schools, businesses, and events creatively

  • Write captions and community updates that reflect RallyCrew’s tone and values

  • Use templates or simple tools (Canva, CapCut, etc.) to create lightweight visual content

Writing and Editorial Development

  • Draft and maintain RallyCrew’s FAQs, onboarding guides, and community guidelines

  • Write blog posts, member spotlights, and event recaps

  • Collaborate on a weekly email newsletter and/or weekly SMS digest—What Happened on RallyCrew This Week?

  • Help develop a community editorial calendar that balances education, inspiration, and connection

Community Moderation

  • Monitor in-app conversations to maintain a respectful, inclusive tone

  • Step in when necessary to redirect tone, reinforce community guidelines, or elevate issues to the team

  • Support the development of community norms and friendly guidance

Event Support and Facilitation

  • Assist with coordination and moderation of RallyCrew-hosted virtual events (e.g., Paddler Passport series)

  • Post preview and follow-up content for events and encourage ongoing community discussion

  • Help translate live events into lasting community momentum

Social Media Management (Instagram and Facebook)

  • Maintain RallyCrew’s Instagram and Facebook presence with consistent, engaging content

  • Post updates, stories, and community features

  • Track engagement metrics and share insights

  • Adapt external social strategy as conversations shift in-app

What Success Looks Like

  • In-app conversations and group activity are lively, supportive, and inclusive

  • Paddlers feel seen and celebrated through thoughtful engagement and featured content

  • Community content (FAQs, spotlights, posts) is clear, useful, and inspiring

  • Email and/or SMS digests help members stay connected to what is happening on RallyCrew

  • RallyCrew’s live events feel vibrant and well-moderated, with strong community carryover

  • RallyCrew’s community culture is positive, welcoming, and well-moderated

Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $65,000 to $75,000 per year (full-time equivalent), depending on experience and location.

Time commitment: This role is structured as a part-time position, with an expected commitment of approximately 20-30 hours per week. Compensation will be prorated based on time commitment and experience.

Benefits:

  • Unlimited vacation — We don’t track days off. Need time away for a paddling trip, life moment, or rest day? Go for it.

  • Health insurance stipend — Not typically offered for this part-time role, but we’re open to discussing support based on your situation and needs.

  • Tools and setup — We assume you already have the basic tools you need to do the job—like a laptop, phone, and home workspace—but if you don’t, or if anything’s missing, let us know. We’re happy to help get you set up.
